ABOUT US

we are the keepers of the heritage

Atemc is an interactive and collective atlas born from the need to register traditional masks and costumes of the Eurasian area. The project is divided into various sections: carnival, theriomorphic masks, seasonal rites, rituals and folklore.

Clicking on the icons of the Atlas will open a tab with the name of the mask or costume, a description of the place and occasion in which they are used, and some photos.

The Atlas is intended to be a useful tool for researching and learning about cultural heritage, as well as being a useful teaching tool that can be used in every class and grade school. Atemc is free, self-financed and independent. All materials are freely accessible for non-commercial use upon prior mention. We work for the conservation, study, transmission and free access to the traditional culture of the Eurasian peoples.

Atemc is an open network of photographers, folklorists, ethnologists, anthropologists, travelers, enthusiasts and scholars of Eurasian masks, costumes and traditions.
